Well, he did have that comment in one episode, in between doing the happy little trees and the cabin that looks like it will ruin the damn painting, that he spent "over half of [his] life in the military, doing horrible things," still in that utterly calm drugged-out voice of his, with a smile exactly like that in the photo above. So, this depiction is probably rather accurate!
