Cases like this are why I will never, ever approve of the death penalty... when police and prosecutors allow their own prejudices to cloud their judgement and unrelentingly pursue those not actually guilty, things cannot be made right if the wrongly convicted have been executed.

I hope the police who coerced the confession in this case are prosecuted.

I remember reading *years* ago they were making a motion to submit new DNA evidence on some hair, and only now is anything happening with it.

I feel the same way. In theory I'm not sure that I'm altogether opposed to the idea of a death penalty, but in practice I'm vehemently opposed to one. Having read and studied everything I could get my hands on about eyewitness memory and faulty evidence for the past 7 years or so has only cemented this belief.
