OK, I need a new brain cell.

When I first saw you use that icon (some while ago now), I wondered quite what it was about. For some reason, that little "-" at the end of the 3rd line got misinterpreted in my brain, and read it as consec-rated - like X-rated or premium-rated. I wondered what "consec" meant, but figured maybe it was jargon from some genre I wasn't familiar with, imagining it was the equivalent of four chillies on a menu.

Finally, today, my brain recognised it as a hyphen[1]. Now it all makes sense! Duh!

I think I'll go lie down in a dark room for a while.

[1] Perhaps because I have spent the last week or so arguing with InDesign about, among other things, hyphenation,.

Thank you for this link. I grabbed the Hindi list, found something particularly foul, and IMed it to a (Indian) co-worker, asking him what it meant.

That made my morning.

(He's someone who I knew would take it well, I might add. After his initial heart attack, anyway...)
