my personal name in Hebrew for now:
Oct. 23rd, 2006 05:29 pmשועלי
We took the root word for "fox","שועל",and added a yod at the end (remember that Hebrew reads from right to left). I'm not sure I want to take this name on permanently, but it will do for now. It's transliterated as "Shu'ali".More on this in my previous entry on the name search.

A pledge (Mem Shin Kaph Vau Nun)
By aiq bkr it's 11, which is a swell number in both Thelemic and Discordian symbolism.

Date: 2006-10-24 11:00 pm (UTC)As far as Gematria is concerned, שועלי works out to be 416. 416 is also the Gematria for המאור הקטן H'M'Aur H'Qatan meaning "the lesser light."
This is a referance to Genesis I:16 "and Elohim made the essence of the two great lights, the essence of the greater light governing the day and the lesser light governing the the night and the essence of stars." (interpritation of the Hebrew my own)
In the Zohar the Greater and Lesser Lights are defined as the formulae for the Divine Names Tetragrammaton and Elohim respectively and terms are used fairly often throughout the book.
Also worth mentioning is that in Freemasonry the "Lesser Lights" refer to the Sun, the Moon, and the Worshipful Master (which are concreate as opposed to the more symbolic "Greater Lights" which are the Square, Compasses, and Volume of Sacred Law). One could read into that pretty deeply, especially in Alchemical literature.
