I'm not convinced of the continued value of a commercial service that I have to pay for when politics have to be introduced into it in order for it not to absolutely suck balls.
2) Another way of looking at it is that the company is fairly actively listening to its users, which is more than you can say for most commercial services.
3) Given that you've basically ported yourself over to twitter it may not even matter...
