I thought that the photo I iconized earlier today was the funniest thing to come out of last night's debate. Apparently I was wrong:

I almost feel bad about laughing at this one, because, as Kevin Drum said:
"This picture is a microcosm of the entire campaign. It's totally unfair, it could happen to any of us, it's just an unfortunate trick of timing and angle, but....well, nothing is going right for John McCain this year, is it? The guy is cursed."
It is truly unfortunate, especially considering how the photo apparently came about in the first place:
"There was apparently a bit at the end (which I didn't see myself) where McCain tries to come around the table to shake the moderator's hand, and they both go in the same direction around the table, and then both reverse themselves, and McCain makes a funny face to indicate that they're doing something dopey."
It would be grossly unfair to hang John McCain with his ability to laugh at himself. We need more politicians who can do that.

Still: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I would feel bad about laughing if he hadn't been taking Obama's success so poorly during the bits of debate that I saw.

He kept coming across as sore loser. I think Obama nailed it with this response to the repeated Ayers attacks: "The fact that this has become such an important part of your campaign, Sen. McCain, says more about your campaign than it says about me."

This pic reminds me of the "Bob Dole Falling Off The Stage And Looking Like He'd Break A Hip" one.

Looks awful, has a gut impact, unfortunate but good for the opponent.

I was hoping that someone would snap a shot of it when I was watching the debate, but I had no idea that the composition would come out so beautifully.

On the topic of nothing going right for J-Mac, though...Sara and I were discussing it during the debate last night, and honestly, I think they're trying to throw it.

Never in my life have I witnessed a campaign so poorly executed. It CAN'T be chalked up to sheer incompetence.

I mean come on, SARAH PALIN?!
